Abstract

Hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia have long been noted as risk factors for the development of coronary heart disease (CHD) [1]. It has also been shown that these cardiovascular risk factors may cluster in the same individual. While earlier studies have suggested this clustering is related to increased overall adiposity, more recent attention has focused in the possible role of insulin resistance.
