Abstract

Organ transplantation has a distinctive feature: supply of organs is difficult because the graft is a rare resource. The imbalance between organ requirement and organ supply has two consequences:

  1. 1.

Establishment of waiting lists for each organ.

  2. 2.

Establishment of rules to manage the waiting lists with equity and efficacy.
