Formulation of Mycoinsecticides

  • Chapter
Formulation of Microbial Biopesticides

Abstract

The range of insects controllable by fungi is wide. Fungi kill insects primarily by infection through the external insect cuticle, arising from sporr Jung the insect surface by chance, infectic, rarely occurring through the gut. Since spores need not he eaten, they attack sucking as well as chewing insects. The host insects most commonly mentioned in this chapter are aphids, whitefles (scale insects), locusts and grasshoppers, lepidopterous larvae, ants, termites and ground beetles in foliar and soil habitats.
