Abstract

This paper briefly reviews the technological, social and geographical state-of-the-art of business and banking, and then deals with the changes in their structure made possible by the forthcoming technology. A global survey is given and current trends presented, emphasizing the technological means and the methods involved in these new services, without neglecting their interactions with current and future players. Examples of old and new businesses are provided; a new portable integrated system for digital payments to fit both the market needs of developing countries and the market differentiation m developed countries is outlined.
