Abstract

Hierarchical structures are seen in various astrophysical objects in the universe, such as globular clusters in a galaxy, or galaxies in a cluster of galaxies. Such a subsystem in a virialized system forms a distinct object which is in virial equilibrium by itself. How such subsystems form and evolve in a larger scale environment is a fundamental problem of astronomy.
