Abstract
This is the second decade that Ukrainian forestry has born the influence of the large-scale environmental catastrophe caused by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident During this period, foresters have accumulated valuable knowledge of forest management in conditions of radioactive contamination, special research groups have been created to study the problem. Despite finding solutions to most issues, there are still many serious social and environmental consequences requiring attention. The solution to this growing range of problems will be more complex as time goes on.
