Abstract

While the Kyoto Protocol sets several critical milestones, a number of issues are still left open or ill-defined and await further clarification by the continuation of the UNFCCC negotiation process, in subcommittees and by CoP. Prominent examples are the asymmetry between JI and CDM in terms of banking, or the reduction amounts to be fulfilled domestically by Annex I Parties (see also chapters 1, 3 and 5 in this volume).
