Abstract
The grain legumes are an important group of crop species, belonging to the family of the Fabaceae. They are grown for human and animal nutrition all over the world. Examples include soybean (Glycine max), peanut (Avachis hypogaea), pea (Pisum sativum), faba bean (Vicia faba), lentil (Lens culinaris), cowpea (Vigna unguiculata), mung bean (Vigna radiata), chickpea (Cicer arietinum), and common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris).
