Curvilinear Structures

Abstract

This chapter continues our model-based approach by studying the extraction and, in the next chapter the subsequent use, of what are termed “curvilinear structures” (CLS), which correspond to blood vessels, milk ducts, spiculations, and fibrous tissue. Fundamental to our approach to such an image processing problem is to model the CLS, and the passage of x-rays through them, using the h int representation.
