Abstract
Since the late 1980’s, a concept of smart structures is widely explored in both fixedand rotary-wing aircraft technology. Intelligent devices are investigated for application in different parts of aircraft (such as fuselage, wings, empennage, engines, avionics) for various tasks: vibration reduction, performance improvement, noise reduction, health and usage monitoring, etc.
