Abstract
Separation processes used historically and presently in processing of irradiated nuclear fuel are discussed. Additional emphasis is placed on separation technologies which are being used or which could be applicable in nuclear waste management systems. Both aqueous and non-aqueous processes are discussed. In addition, a review is provided of a variety of separating agents which are being studied for possible use in separation processes in nuclear wastes. The status of development of those various potential separating systems is discussed.
