Abstract
Magnetic resonance (MR) is a physical phenomenon which is produced in the nucleus of some atoms basically consisting of the emission of a radiofrequency (RF) signal generated by the nucleus itself after having been stimulated by RF pulses in the presence of a strong external magnetic field. The computerized analysis of the emitted RF signal may be used both for the study of the chemical composition of tissues, a technique known as MR spectroscopy, and to obtain anatomical images, this constituting the clinical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods.
