Abstract
So far, the book has dealt with the development of environmental policy in Poland before and after systemic change in the chapters on national policy in the 1980s (Chapter 4), national policy in the 1990s (Chapter 5), air pollution from stationary sources (Chapter 6), and saline waste water discharges from the hard coal sector (Chapter 7). Environmental policy has been addressed from four perspectives: characteristics of the policy process, policy content, policy implementation and policy impacts, and policy belief systems. Hence, the first subquestion that was formulated in Chapter 2 — What environmental policy has developed before and after systemic change? — has been answered.
