Abstract

Hysteretic losses in superconducting microstrip resonators and microwave losses contributed to electrically tunable HTSC periodic coplanar waveguide (CPW) resonators by the ferroelectric and superconductor components were calculated and analyzed for several concrete structures. Dependence of the quality factor on the microwave current density, observed at 77 K and 4.23 GHz in YBCO microstrip resonators, was interpreted in terms of the hysteretic loss effect. A good agreement of experimental results with simulated ones was obtained in this approximation for YBCO films when the film critical current density and current independent part of the surface resistance were used as fitting parameters.
