Abstract

In the preceding chapters of this book, methods and instrumentation have been discussed whereby specific qualitative and quantitative analyses may be carried out. The major omission to date is the overall determination of polymer content. The purpose of this chapter is to fill this gap and to illustrate how the primary analytical data-that is, the results actually obtained-may be manipulated and correlated to provide the best estimate of the formulation actually used in the manufacture of the article.
