Abstract
A thorough understanding of basic electrophysiological principles is essential to the proper diagnosis and management of patients with cardiac arrhythmias. Included in this introductory chapter is a discussion of the indications for electrophysiology testing, the equipment and techniques used in a diagnostic electrophysiology study, and the electrophysiological properties of the cardiac conduction system
