Abstract
The problem of the pulsation amplitude and phase as a function of observed wavelength has led to the discovery that the vertical pulsation wavelength is short compared to the geometrical depth at optical depth τ = 1. A derivation showing that we can probe the pulsation over a significant portion of its vertical wavelength is shown. New observations and theoretical advances for Ap star models are then shown supporting this discovery. A comparison with helioseismic observations is made.
