Abstract
I would like to dedicate this book to Prof. Luigi (Gino) Crocco. He completely changed my way of doing research, with him I passed from the dark to the light. I was really fascinated to see Luigi, a true scientist, in the last period of his life struggling with turbulence and checking on his pocket calculator the results I was producing with computers. He taught me to always double check all results. He passed away while he was writing a paper on the last research we did together on EDQNM closures for anisotropic sheared turbulence. I never had the capability to finish that paper.
