Abstract

In this lecture I shall briefly

  1. i

introduce and remark on the energy landscape paradigm

  2. ii

discuss recent progress on non-equilibrium dynamics and thermodynamics of some spin glass models, including extension to include a large ferromagnetic attractor, and applications to glasses without quenched disorder

  3. iii

describe recent progress on a model system involving competitive cooperation via collectively determined macro-data.

  16. Both fo and fth are temperature-dependent but there is no chaotic evolution of states with temperature in the p-spin model. States of f th (T = 0) > f (T = 0) > f (T = 0) become locally stable at reducing temperatures between TM and TTAP but T g < TM.
