Abstract
There are several sources of man-made radioactivity in Kazakhstan, including uranium ore mining and processing as well as the consequences of nuclear bomb explosions. The issue of radioactive contamination of the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site (SNTS) has been discussed. Our task now is to evaluate the health risk to people from these kinds of contamination.
