Abstract

The previous chapters discussed in details the various methods for assessment of myocardial viability (Tables 1 and 2). Newer methods are being introduced such as measurement of intracavitary voltage by electromechanical mapping. The endocardial voltage in myocardial segments with reversible defects is reported to be higher than that in segments with fixed defects [1] (Figure 1). The ultimate utility of this method, however, remains to be determined.
