Abstract
In this chapter an attempt will be made to pin down the conditions for the inter-subjectivity of language and cognition of persons. By this I mean the conditions which provide persons with the possibility to talk about and communicate their knowledge and experience to others — not only of things existing in publicly observable material reality, but also of their non-publicly observable thoughts, emotions, feelings and other internal or mental states; conditions, furthermore which provide persons with the possibility to talk about and determine their individual differences concerning their knowledge and experience of both that which is publicly observable and that of the persons which is only directly observable to themselves. In other word, I shall attempt to pin down the conditions which provide a person with the possibility for being a person, i.e. someone who may be different from other persons.
