Abstract

There are some one thousand species of the class Cephalopoda, mainly two families are commercially caught: Omnastrephidae and Loliquinidae. World-wide about 1.5 million MT are landed per year with Japan on the top with more than 600,000 MT per annum[(30)]. Koreans consume more than any other country 8.3 kg squid per capita[(28)].
