Carditis and cardia intestinal metaplasia are Helicobacter pylori -related

Abstract

There are two reasons:

  1. 1.

    To determine whether the precursor lesions can be identified in relation to cancer of the gastric cardia.

  2. 2.

    As a marker for, or diagnostic test for, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GERD), in the setting where such a test is needed.
