Abstract
In Chapter 3 the hierarchy of documents, known as the quality system, was outlined. In general, a three-tier approach was advocated, whereby the quality manual provided a top level policy overview, with specific quality procedures at the next level showing how the policy should be implemented. Chapter 4 has outlined some typical systems consisting of quality manuals and procedures for the three companies, and Parts 4 and 5 of the book provide the templates referred to.
