Abstract

Since the discovery of the phenomenon of radioactive decay at the end of the 19th century, much research has been devoted to developing an understanding of the subject. A brief summary of some of the basic aspects of radioactivity with particular relevance to radioanalytical applications is presented below, while detailed treatment of both the theoretical and practical aspects of the subject is provided in numerous tests.1–4
