Abstract

In the last 7 years, the interventional cardiology has extended its domain to stenotic heart valves. All 4 heart valves have become amenable to balloon dilation. While the technique for pulmonary valvuloplasty used is more or less the same in all centers there are attempts to use different approaches for aortic and numerous variations for mitral valvuloplasty. The subject of this report is the single author experience in two main techniques for mitral balloon valvuloplasty (transvenous-Inoue [1], transarterial [7]).
