Abstract
Morocco is located in north-west Africa and is encircled, to the north, by the Mediterranean Sea; to the west, by the Atlantic Ocean; to the south-southeast, by the Sahara Desert; and, to the east, by Algeria. The total population in 1982 was 20.409 M living on a land area of 69 M ha; 57% are rural dwellers.
