Summary
Phosphazene polymers consist of nitrogen-phosphorus backbones which have high thermal and chemical stabilities. Experiments at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory demonstrate that phosphazene polymer membranes are capable of removing: (1) chlorinated hydrocarbons from water and air; and (2) acid gases such as SO2, from nitrogen. These results point to a wide range of potential industrial and environmental applications.
