Abstract

The relevant background to the development of engineering ceramics for advanced applications is presented. A number of areas for ceramics in energy production units are considered: heat exchangers, hot gas cleaning, MHD generators, solid electrolyte fuel cells, boilers and gas turbines. Prospects for future markets are good.
