Abstract
Presented are the results of investigating reaction properties of carbon fibre surface and composite materials on the basis of carbon fibres and phenolformaldehyde(PF) resin. Compared have been various reaction property indices to be used for carbon fibres differentiation. Studied has been the interconnection of reaction properties and structural characteristics. It has been shown that the initiation temperature (Ti) is defined by the combination of the processes of structurization and the increase of microdefectiveness. The coorelation between the index characterizing the number of active centres on the surface of carbon fibre having the elevated values of electronic density and the shear strength of carbon plastic has been established. The effect of carbon fibre on the thermal destruction of a binder is shown.
