Abstract
In the course of this work we managed to find the criterion of the transformation degree of the polyacrylonitrile (PAN) fiber in the process of thermal-oxidizing destruction (TOD). We have found out, that TOD may be devided into two stages during isothermal processing. During the second stage oxidation processes are more intensive. The values of transformations degrees F, corresponding to the ending of the first stage Fopt, and the second stage Ffin, depend linearly on the treatment temperature. We suppose, that, after the first stage of TOD, along the whole volume of filaments, there forms a rigid space carcasse, consisting of sewn packs of heteroaromatic layers.
