Synopsis
When this mine was established in an arid environment, special attention had to be given to all aspects affecting employees, production, environment and the local community. This paper examines the position now that the mine has been in production for over ten years.
Specific topics discussed are road and rail infrastructure, supply of power and water, the township, and medical, conservation, recreation and socio-economic factors.
