Abstract
Various authors such as Le Nizerhy [1], De Buhan [2], Suquet [3] have proposed homogenization techniques for heterogeneous materials. In the present paper a kinematic formulation for limit analysis of structures in reinforced soil is presented. This formulation is based on De Buhan criterion and on a finite element discretization of the homogenized material. The subsequent computer codes are used for determining upper bounds of the limit height of reinforced slopes.
