On the Structure and Width of Shear Bands in Finite Elastoplastic Deformations

  • Conference paper
Anisotropy and Localization of Plastic Deformation

Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of shear banding by considering a gradient-dependent theory of finite elastoplasticity including kinematic hardening and the plastic spin. The numerical analysis reveals the significant effect of higher order gradients, anisotropy and spin on the evolution of the shear band in the post localization regime.
