Abstract
On-site array power measurements are a very efficient way to determine mismatch conditions, cabling errors and ground faults as well as module failures or degradation. During the past 3 years the ESTI team has measured the array output of more than 10 large PV installations by scanning the I–V characteristics of the arrays, using a capacitor load. We present here some of these results as well as the methodology used to obtain I-V curves extrapolated to Standard Test Conditions from the actual scans.
