Abstract
The Data Collection Platforms (DCPs) are microcomputer based data acquisition systems transmitting preprocessed sensor data via satellite to a home destination. In this project the DCPs are designed for the operation at specific remote areas in Indonesia with the purpose of meteorological data acquisition.
For data transmission the ARGOS system is used. The ARGOS onboard package is carried by NOAA satellites. Two spacecrafts simultaneously, in low polar orbits are operationally scheduled to provide the ARGOS system with complete global coverage. As a ground segment ARGOS service in Toulouse provides the data with a time delay of about 6 hours.
