Zusammenfassung
Man kann zwar nicht sagen, der Physikalismus stelle eines der großen Themen der philosophischen Arbeit von Carnap dar, aber Carnap war doch von etwa 1930 bis 1960 einer seiner prominentesten Vertreter im Raum der analytischen Philosophie, in seinen Arbeiten spiegelt sich die Entwicklung des Physikalismus bis zu dieser Zeit wider, und er hat vor allem mit seiner pragmatisch-linguistischen Formulierung auch einen spezifischen systematischen Beitrag dazu geleistet. Ich möchte im folgenden zuerst auf die Entwicklung des Physikalismus bei Carnap eingehen, wobei es mir vor allem auf seine Grundgedanken und Intentionen ankommt. Danach will ich kurz auf die weitere Entwicklung hinweisen und den gegenwärtigen Stand der Diskussion charakterisieren. Der Akzent dieser Arbeit liegt nicht auf exegetischen, sondern auf systematischen Fragen, wie das auch der Intention der philosophischen Arbeit Carnaps entspricht.
