Abstract

We have attempted to obtain a genetic map of A. vinelandii UW strain, constructing multimarked strains and using them for mapping experiments. Three mapping techniques have been employed. 1. Cotransfer of markers mediated by plasmids R68.45 and pJB3JI. 2. Isolation of R-prime derivatives of plasmid pJB3JI and analysis of markers included in the chromosomal fragment. 3. Polar transfer of chromosomal markers mediated by Tn5-Mob.
