Abstract

The distributions of galaxy spin in the Local Super Cluster, groups of galaxies, and pairs of galaxies were studied by using a data base of spiral winding sense of galaxies with an assumption that all the spirals are trailing. The author argues that there is a possibility that the actual distribution of galaxy spin shows a dipole or a quadrupole component depending on the scenarios of galaxy formation. No significant correlation, however, was identified in any ensemble. Implications of the present study on the origin of the spin angular momenta of galaxies are discussed.
