Abstract

Since ultrasound (US) has been widely used in clinical routine diagnostic of the liver and abdomen, it is easy to demonstrate a livertumor in an early and presymptomatic stage. Indications for US examination could be thorough basic diagnostic routinely done as screening or in connection with other, mostly malign diseases and abdominal pain of unknown origin. It is necessary to make an in-vivo differential diagnosis, since the different types of liver tumors have a different prognosis and therefore none, less or more therapeutic interventions are indicated enhancing the possibility and extent of complications.
