Abstract
In this paper we undertake an empirical analysis of production costs and productivity in the Norwegian fish processing industry based on cross-section data for the three-year period 1985–87. We employ a short-run variable cost function and pay a special attention to the cyclical nature of the availability of raw fish supply to the industry.
