Abstract
The method of phase portrait enables us to take into view constructively the presence of phase constraints, that is, constraints imposed on the state of the CDS. Geometrically, the presence of constraints on the state implies that the representative point q of the given CDS cannot lie in an isolated given set G in the state space {q}. As a rule, G c {q} is prescribed a priori independently of the basic equation of the CDS.
