Abstract

Unsteady heat transfer in a flow through a porous medium between two stationary parallel plates or between two relatively moving parallel plates is reviewed here. The effects of the permeability parameter on the amplitude and phase of the rate of heat transfer are discussed. Also, steady mixed convection flow through a porous medium bounded by two vertical parallel plates, with or without radiation effects, is discussed. An account of both steady and transient cases is taken into consideration. Lastly, a survey of mixed convection flows through porous medium bounded by a horizontal or vertical plate is presented.
