Part of the book series: Theory and Decision Library ((TDLB,volume 13))

Abstract

Global 2000 Report stated that “modern economies are broken down with disastrous results both for humans and their life-supporting environment.” I agree with the authors of the report: “if present trends continue, the world in 2000 will be more crowded, more polluted, less stable ecologically, and more vulnerable to disruption than the world we live in now.” In such a world-situation the problem of ecological and human awareness is crucial in economic decision-making.
