FLYSIM — A Program for a Basic Flight Simulator

Abstract

The program FLYSIH provides simulation of the flight of a large passenger aircraft. A time-stepping finite-difference method is employed to solve the six equations of motion under the influence of the user’s control panel. At this stage only simple graphics are displayed and no output to a floating hydraulically powered cabin is provided. However the program could be adapted to provide data to parallel microprocessors controlling such functions.
