Abstract
Malignant lymphomas are neoplastic disorders arising from cells of the lymphoreticular system. Under this general heading it is usual to distinguish Hodgkin’s disease and non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas. This distinction, mostly based on clinical and pathological data, is somewhat erroneous since modern investigations strongly suggest that at least certain subtypes of Hodgkin’s disease, namely nodular lymphocytic and reticular forms, are in fact distinct disorders, unrelated to Hodgkin’s disease (Pinkus and Said, 1985; Stein et al.. 1985; Ree et al.. 1989; Agnarsson and Kadin, 1989).
