Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Sintered Reaction Bonded Silicon Nitride (SRBSN)

Abstract

The distribution of grain size and aspect ratio of the β — Si3N4-grains in SRBSN were estimated. These microstructural parameters and the amount of glassy phase were correlated with mechanical properties of the materials at room and high temperatures.
