Abstract
This paper focuses on the combined use of ordination and correlation methods in measuring and modelling the compositional dynamics of the fauna along forest successions, in particular by linking the vegetation dynamics and the induced animal species turnovers. New definitions of within-sample and between-sample diversity are used, and their relations with space (ecotones, patchiness) and time (rate of succession, disturbance) mentioned.
