Abstract

Potato (Solanum tuberosum) tubers contain a family of soluble glycoproteins with esterase activity . These can be resolved by FPLC on a Mono Q column. Partial resolution of the glycoforms can be achieved using low cost fast-flow cellulosic ion exchangers (Whatman DE 92) . The ability of ion exchangers, designed for process scale chromatography, to separate glycoforms illustrates the excellent kinetic characteristics of these adsorbents.
